Mobility & Bouldering

Struggling to finish a project you’ve been working on? Injured yourself in the process? Just don’t have the small reach to allow you to send it?
It might be time to improve your functional mobility.

What is functional mobility? It is the increased Range of Motion that you are able to use functionally (passive range vs active range). We will use CARs (Controlled Angular Rotations) exercises to develop the range in selected joints for climbing. Budokon mobility will also be included to round of the practice before we head down to the walls, expected some animal locomotion, hip and shoulder mobility for more controller climbing.

The class is part of the yoga schedule. We will spend the last hour on the bouldering wall using the movement we practiced in the studio.
Free to members, regular day pass for non-members.

Note: You will need a pair of climbing shoes for the second half of the class.

Evolv Boulder Series

21 January – 25 February 2019

In conjunction with the SANCF National Bouldering League
Stand a chance to go to the Provincial and National finals (if you are a part of a cool climbing club such as Redpoint)

The league is open from 5PM to closing every Monday, and all day Tuesday; but each competitor may only take two hours to compete. Check the notice boards & front desk at the gym for scoring and rules.
