No, you can come without a partner as all our CityROCK gyms are equipped with auto-belays. Auto-belays allow you to climb without a belay partner. We highly recommend that you take an intro class to enhance your experience.

Wear clothing that is comfortable and easy to move around in. Stretchy pants, track pants, gym tights or shorts work well. All climbers are required to wear climbing shoes while climbing anywhere in the gym. If you don’t own a pair of climbing shoes, you can rent them at our front reception desk.
Top Rope climbing is a form of climbing when you climb up a high wall or rock face while being supported by a rope that is already anchored at the top of the wall. Requires a team of two: climber and belayer.
Lead climbing requires a team of two: climber and belayer. The belayer stays on the ground and controls the rope attached to the climber using a belay device in the event of a fall. The rope is clipped into fixed protection by the climber as he progresses up the climbing wall.
