Membership Terms and Conditions
- Adult Membership:
- Memberships have a THREE month commitment period (three debit order payments) after which the membership may be cancelled or frozen through completing the relevant forms. After the three month commitment period, your contract runs month to month until you notify us in writing to freeze or cancel.
- Membership is a contractual privilege for the use of our facility. We reserve the right to initiate, change, or eliminate annual and monthly fees, facilities, services or programs; and to change our hours of operation. Membership does not entitle you to any interest in CityROCK, and confers no right to participate in its management or operation. We reserve the right to cancel this membership at any time.
- Debit orders which fail due to the customer’s bank account are subject to an admin fee of R50.
- Membership transfers, change of details or new cards issued; are subject to an admin fee of R50.
- Membership transactions between the member and CityROCK staff need to be confirmed in writing.
- The member and their dependents (if a family membership) have read, understood and signed the CityROCK registration and disclaimer agreement.
- Student members will need to supply proof of studies by the end of April each year. If no proof of studies is supplied, the membership will automatically be moved to an adult membership rate.
- Cash memberships are non-refundable. After the agreed cash membership period ends, your membership contract will be terminated unless extended by you, the member, before the expiration date.
- Couples Membership Terms and Conditions:
- Couples Membership is defined as two people that are in a Romantic Relationship and living together in the same household. Both individuals must provide proof of identification and residency to verify their eligibility for the Couples Membership Rate.
- The Couples membership rate will be billed as a single debit order from the Main Account holder’s bank account. The Main Member will be the individual that is responsible for the accounts and ensuring that the membership fees are paid on time.
- The Main Member may cancel or freeze the Couples Membership by providing written notice on the corresponding cancellation or freeze request form. Should one of the individuals decide to continue as a member, that person will have to change to an Adult Membership rate and sign a new contract agreement.
- The Couples Membership rate is not transferable and may only be used by the designated individuals. Any misuse of the membership may result in the termination of the membership without a refund
- Terms & Conditions for Off-Peak Tariffs:
(It is recommended to arrive with sufficient time to account for any unforeseen delays)- The Off-Peak Membership Rate is available to all current and new members of CityROCK.
- This membership allows access to the facilities during off-peak hours only.
- Off-peak hours are defined as any time before 15:30 (3:30 PM) on weekdays (Monday to Thursday) and all-day Friday. Weekends are excluded from the off-peak membership.
- Members must swipe in at the entrance before 15:30 to utilize the Off-Peak Membership Rate.
- Any swipe-in at or after 15:30 will be considered a late swipe and is subject to a R50 late fee. Swipe-in on a weekend or public holiday will be considered as a late swipe and is subject to a R50 late fee.
- Late swipes will incur an R50 late fee per instance, payable immediately.
- Members are responsible for ensuring they swipe in before 15:30 on weekdays to avoid the late swipe fee.
- Freezes and Cancellations:
- Memberships can be frozen for 1-6 months once annually.
- Cancellations and freezes require a one calendar month notice period.
- Cancellations and freeze requests must be given in writing via email.
- It remains the responsibility of the member to ensure CityROCK acknowledges receiving the email request.
- Freezes will automatically be reactivated on the next due date indicated.
- Your freeze or cancellation will only be considered active once you have received an email confirmation and a corresponding reference number.
- Final Debit Fee:
- A debit order payment is made in advance for a particular calendar month (30-31 days).
- In order to adhere to the one calendar month notice period, a final debit order will be necessary to pay for the final month.
- When you cancel during the month, your next due debit order will still apply, and your contract will only be terminated at the end of the next month.
The joining fee is payable immediately, but your first debit payment will then only be charged on the 1st of the following month.

Gear Shop Sale Terms and Conditions
Sales running online at Mountain Mail Order and in-store at the CityROCK Gear Shop are subject to the same terms and conditions, unless otherwise stated. No compounded or further discounts apply; this includes CityROCK membership, and MCSA discounts. Industrial gear is excluded from sales or discounts.
